Custom hospitality design

Custom hospitality design starts with the experience you want guests to have, then connects it to the way the venue operates. A memorable lobby, lounge or reception area needs more than a distinctive image: the layout, materials and fabricated details must work together.

Start with the guest journey

Map arrival, orientation, waiting, service and departure. Identify where guests pause and where staff need clear movement. Use this brief to decide which elements deserve a custom response—perhaps a reception desk, seating feature, bar frontage or display—rather than making everything bespoke.

Give the concept a material strategy

Consider finish samples, cleaning, wear, lighting integration and access for maintenance alongside the appearance. For each custom element, record the intended finish, visible edges and interfaces with adjacent work. Discuss material availability and fabrication options with the project team before final selections.

Bring the contractor into the conversation

Existing conditions, building services, deliveries and installation access affect what can be built. Ask the contractor and fabricator to identify assumptions, long-lead items and scope boundaries. Hospitality spaces may need specialist input; approvals and regulated design remain with the appointed qualified professionals.

How Tony can help

Consultony contributes commercial design advice, fabrication strategy, material thinking and design-detail coordination. Tony Spagnolo works with reputable contractors to complete the work, keeping the design intent part of the discussion rather than promising in-house construction or a fixed opening date. Bring your brand brief, plans, photographs and early budget to the first conversation.
